2024 Goals:
Strengthen our ward by;
- Love, Share, Invite
- Encourage the entire Ward family to participate in the ward monthly missionary Goal
- Bringing 3 people to baptism and focused on going to the temple
- Activate 3 families
How we plan to accomplish our goals:
Relief Society
- Implement a missionary moment on the 5th Sunday following up on the monthly missionary ideas.
- Invite all to take that month’s missionary challenge.
- Remind all sisters to invite non-members and less active members to all activities.
- Will help with planning and executing four Activities a year, to which non-member friends will be invited.
- Will go out with team-ups with the full-time missionaries (when sister missionaries are serving in the Ward).
Elders Quorum
- EQ will monitor the new convert list and help new members progressing along the covenant path (wherever possible).
- Implement a missionary moment at the start of priesthood quorum.
- Invite all to take that month’s missionary challenge.
- Will help with planning and executing four Activities a year, to which non-member friends will be invited.
- Will go out with team-ups with the full-time missionaries (when Elders are serving in the Ward).
- Ensure that each new convert visits the temple to perform baptisms for ancestors within two months of their baptism.
- Help new converts and focus families get into the family history center to prepare their own names for going to the temple.
Young Men
- The YM will strive to have one non-member attend weekly activities each month.
- Priests will go on team-ups with the missionaries (when Elders are serving in the Ward) and will report their experiences back to the quorum on the following quorum meeting.
- Invite all to take that month’s missionary challenge.
- Combine forces with another youth group in our community, once a year, to perform a service project.
- Implement a missionary moment at the start of priesthood quorum - sharing missionary experiences.
Young Women
- The YW will strive to have one non-member attend weekly activities each month.
- Class 3 Young Women will go on team-ups with the missionaries (when Sisters are serving in the Ward) and will report their experiences back to the Class on the following Class meeting.
- Invite all to take that month’s missionary challenge.
- Implement a missionary moment at the start of young women class meetings - sharing missionary experiences.
- Have a family history moment once a month from each of the three young women classes. This would be an assignment for a young women to research a family history story or experience and share it with the group.
Primary
- The Primary will invite the family of each child being baptized to have the Missionaries over to teach their child a shorter version of the discussions (4 mini lessons). Help prepare children for baptism. Help build relationships with the missionaries. Help motivate family to invite non member friends and family to the baptism.
- Implement a missionary moment at the start of sharing time at least once a month.
- Invite all to take that month’s missionary challenge.
Sunday School
- Implement a missionary moment at the start of Sunday School Class - sharing missionary experiences.
- Invite all to take that month’s missionary challenge.
- Introduce and make welcome all new members and non members at the beginning of each class.
Bishopric
- A member of the Bishopric will invite all those giving a talk in sacrament to invite non-members to church to hear their talk.
- Will ensure that ward activities are appropriately planned to invite non-member friends.
- Will encourage all families to join in with the Love, Share, Invite mission focus.
- Will encourage all families to participate the wards monthly missionary goal.
- Will have a monthly ward council meeting to discuss our progress and the covenant path progress of recent converts
Missionaries / Ward Mission
- Will work on the prospective elders list, as assigned by the bishop.
- Visit all families that are new and recently moved into our ward boundaries.
- Help member’s learn and execute: Love, Share, Invite.
- Will follow up, with those giving talks and extend any possible help with writing the talk as well as help the members brainstorm on who they could invite to come out and listen to the talk.
- Will work with the primary in coordinating lessons to be taught to families with a child preparing for baptism. The missionaries will motivate and invite the families to extend invitations to non-member friends.
Ward Council
- The Ward Council will lead by example – taking on and completing the Monthly Missionary Idea for the Ward.
- The Ward Council will invite and encourage members of their respective quorums / groups to participate in our Ward Monthly Missionary idea.
- At least 1 member of Ward council will bear their testimony regarding a missionary experience during fast and testimony meeting.
- Will make sure that all of the Ward activities are focused on inviting our non-member and less active friends.
